ESC’s fund development programs provide the resources and training necessary to build a solid foundation for fund development success in the area of individual giving. Since long-term, sustainable fundraising success depends on the involvement of the entire organization, we work with the organization’s professional and volunteer leadership to foster an organization-wide approach that will last long after the engagement ends.
IG 360: Development Retainer Program
IG 360 is designed to help an organization build its capacity for a more sustainable and diversified fundraising program to advance its mission. A team of dedicated and experienced ESC consultants will use a highly customized approach to building a successful donor development program, flexible and responsive to the client organization’s needs and capabilities. The program includes:
- Comprehensive assessment that identifies the organization’s fundraising strengths and challenges, including its mission, vision, and strategic plan
- Review of the organization’s development systems and procedures and existing fundraising results
- Support creating and implementing a fund development plan, case for giving, donor database, and new systems and procedures for improved results
- Help the Board understand their critical role in fundraising in partnership with the organization's leadership and staff
- Tools and techniques for growing the fundraising program, such as identification of new sources of income and steps to achieve favorable results; training key staff and volunteers in a structured organizational process to approach donors; and assistance in motivating staff and volunteers to apply best practices as a team

Developing Development Program (DDP)
DDP helps nonprofits build a successful fundraising program concentrated on individual giving. Participants learn essential content in our group trainings and clinics and then work closely with their coaches on applying their learnings to their own nonprofit, based on their organization’s unique needs. Third-party evaluations of DDP have repeatedly validated the program's effectiveness and linked DDP benchmarks with long-term improvements in fundraising. This eighteen-month program includes:
- 8 half-day training sessions
- 5 two-hour clinics
- Facilitated Board retreat
- A pair of ESC executive coaches to support and guide the nonprofit through implementation
