• Extensive Experience – Our consultants have all attained senior management positions in their professions, with significant leadership experience as well as high-level content skills in key areas (planning, finance, fundraising, human resources, operations, etc.). Most also have a history of involvement with nonprofits before joining ESC, usually in volunteer and/or Board capacities.
• Availability – Our consultants devote significant time to both client work and ESC trainings. They commit 12 hours or more every month to each long-term project to which they are assigned, attend both extensive initial and ongoing continuing education, and are willing to travel to each client’s location at times that fit the client’s needs.
• Personal Traits – Our consultants have successfully made the transition from executive to consultant to coach; they uniformly demonstrate dedication to the nonprofit community, a client-centered approach, support of diversity, patience, active listening, a desire to continue their learning, and a deep commitment to client confidentiality.
