This seminar explores the advantages and limitations of evaluating program effectiveness. The emphasis will be on understanding how to plan for an evaluation and using practical evaluation methods that can feed back to the planning process. Participants will put what they learn into practice in this hands-on workshop of the entire evaluation process. Topics will include evaluation jargon, evaluation methods, specifying evaluation objectives and working with a consultant.  Exercises will focus on identifying which elements of a program to evaluate, designing program objectives and evaluation plans, choosing the appropriate methods, data collection methods, and making sense and use of the data once collected.
